The future of green lighting in “Project Topless” (Thin Organic Polymeric Light Emitting Semi-conductor Surfaces) a UK government sponsored project incorporating polymer OLED technology into super-energy efficient lighting for everyday use with the ability to crank out the equivalent of 50 watts of halogen light power in only 3.5 watts of organic light. - - The project which started in December 2008 and runs until February 2010, involves the British lighting giant Thorn Lighting, the University of Durham’s Physics & Chemistry Department and Sumation UK Light & Power which made the .7mm thick OLED panels. - Here is a link to an excellent interview OLED-Info.com had with Dr.Geoff Williams of the University Of Durham regarding the Topless Project -
